Restored as capital of Germany following reunification in the 1990s, Berlin is the largest city in the country, and a place close to the hearts of all Germans. Unapologetically grand with stunning imperial architecture and any number of iconic buildings on both sides of the old wall, Berlin is one of the most rapidly developing cities in the world, and the dynamism of change is the only constant. Buildings from the past are torn down without nostalgia and replaced with shining new constructions as a testament to modernism.
Museums and galleries celebrate Berlin's long history as a centre for the arts, and monuments to the sometimes troubled past of the country testify to a willingness to face the future with a respect to the past.
Endlessly fascinating and entrancing, Berlin is a city with more charm and culture than most, and while the damaged glamour of the past, and the intrigue of spy games may be gone, Berlin is a city that can still keep you entertained with its many attractions such as the iconic Brandenburg Gate, Rathaus, Checkpoint Charlie, and the famous new Holocaust Museum designed by architect Daniel Liebeskind - the designer of the new Freedom Tower in New York.
With a young population eager to unwind, it should come as no surprise to visitors that Berlin has some of the best nightlife in all of Germany, and people travel to the city from all over Europe in order to experience the sights and sounds on offer in Berlin nightclubs.
